ENGAGEMENT:

We take a direct and straightforward approach to meeting your requirements.  First, there is an initial 'fact-finding' meeting between your business and a high-level IT consultant from Netpros. We examine the number of IT users within your business, assess any existing infrastructure already be in place, and discuss your unique situation.  In short: we take the time to figure out exactly what the expectations of your IT solution will be - both now and in the future.
 

TOP TIP

During your initial meeting with an IT company, find out exactly what the person sitting down with you at the table knows about technology.  Make sure you aren't dealing with a sales person or consultant who has no relevant skills (or in depth IT experience).  They tend to be motivated by a quick sale and maximising their commission rather than taking the time to provide your business with the most appropriate solution.

DESIGN:

Your solution must be robust. During the design phase, we consider the end-to-end picture and how your requirements are likely to change and evolve over time. We have an established relationship with key suppliers such as Microsoft, Citrix, VMware, Cisco, Trend Micro, and HP. But we also like to look beyond these obvious partners and think outside the box for you, too. From there, we submit a detailed proposal to you, based on best IT practices, combined with years of real world hands on experience.Your solution must be robust.
 

TOP TIP

Be sure to ask any IT company what the design proposed offers your business both immediately and in the longer term.  Check whether or not the company you’re dealing with has implemented a similar solution within your industry sector. Beware of anyone trying to sell you 'off the shelf' solutions without really looking at your existing structures, without looking at your existing business model, and without considering how users are going to utilise the technology in practice.

COST:

Remember: as the client you not only have to pay for the hard cost of your technology, but also for the cost of the consultants' time spent installing and otherwise delivering that technology, too. Our pricing is mid-range but the skill set of our consultants greatly exceeds others within the same price bracket. This means we can deliver your solution quickly and effectively, minimising your billing costs. Note: if you as our potential client should ever insist on 'cutting corners' we would make the potential consequences of doing so crystal clear before providing a clear roadmap for the solution.
 

TOP TIP

Keep an eye out for unnecessarily high consulting fees which are the result of retaining multiple experts with individual expertise... be sure to clarify exactly what you are getting back for your money in each case and the anticipated return on your investment. Carefully consider whether an IT company is simply telling you what you want to hear in order to get papers signed and the sale 'closed'. This can lead to problems fast. In fact, often IT companies lose clients in as little as 3 to 6 months as it suddenly begins to dawn that the solution delivered is the wrong one. Severe problems. Downtime.Loss of revenue

IMPLEMENTATION:

When implementing your solution we adhere to best practices as defined by vendors.  But we also adhere to best practices as developed and refined by ourselves based on real world experience of implementing solutions.  Industry white papers do not cater for each and every scenario found out in the field. Your solution is delivered after in-house development and testing, or alternatively after an initial implementation as part on an in-house pilot. That means minimum disruption to your ongoing business. What’s more, your implementation is fully documented and refined.
 

TOP TIP

Find out who will be implementing your IT. What technical accreditations do they have? How many years technical experience do they have delivering end-to-end solutions? Make sure the plan is not simply to read the vendor's technical documentation and take a “next, next, next” approach. Often best practices outlined in white papers issued by vendors have little correlation to what actually has to be done in the real world.

DAY-TO-DAY:

If we installed the systems, we are best placed to provide you with day-to-day monitoring, support and maintenance. This will ensure maximum uptime and we will carry on working in the background. Most work is proactive and you will not even be aware of what is happening as we eliminate many problems before they even arise. You will receive monthly/quarterly management and technical reports to see a clear picture of your IT infrastructure. We also provide professional support when you need it. Importantly, you’ll always speak directly with a high-level consultant immediately.
 

TOP TIP

Ascertain who you will be speaking with when you pick up the phone to your IT company for support.  What is the average time of call resolution once logged and how do they guarantee their Service Level Agreements? Multiple tiers of contact mean issues can often take a long time to be resolved. Problems have to be explained multiple times by the client to several different consultants all working at different levels.  Messages are miscommunicated, leading to undue stress.
